Who We Are

The DeBaliviere Place Special Business District (SBD) is a special taxation district within a portion of the DeBaliviere Place neighborhood in the 10th ward.

We’re deeply committed to the safety and security of all our residents as well as improving cleanliness, increasing beautification, and upgrading our improvements. We’re also committed to marketing, branding, and promoting our incredibly diverse and historical neighborhood.

What We Do

Our goal is to serve the public by improving the DeBaliviere Special Business District and our neighborhood overall.

By improving the quality of life in the community we have proudly joined nearby neighborhoods like the Central West End and the Grove in securing the safety, beauty, and livelihood of our historical neighborhood.

Primary services within the SBD include providing police patrols, monitoring security cameras, landscaping Lasater Plaza, and maintaining Pet Waste Stations.

We’re proud to announce the completed Pedestrian Lighting Project in the 5300 block of Pershing Avenue in 2021. The project provided 30 granitoid lampposts with LED fixtures and has increased the safety of our residents.

Board Members

The SBD is managed by a 7-member Board of Commissioners appointed by the Mayor. The Commissioners serve four-year terms without compensation. Any SBD resident or property owner may serve on the Board. If interested in becoming a board member, please apply here.

We’re incredibly grateful for the service of our board members listed below. We wouldn’t be successful in our endeavors without their continued commitment to making our district a better place.
